Introducing Minikai to families

A plain-language introduction to Minikai you can share with families and participants, as copy or as a printable one-page flyer.

Written by Bec Yik

Families and participants sometimes ask what Minikai is, or a new person joining your service wants a plain-language explanation before their first conversation with a Mini. This article gives you that explanation in the same words, so you can share it as-is: read it out, paste it into an email, or hand over the printable one-page version linked below.

What is Minikai?

Your service provider is introducing Minikai, a kind of AI. A digital helper in the form of an app that helps your support team with their paperwork and gives them more time to spend with people. It is designed to help your team not replace them. It is also designed to make sure it is people who make the decisions not the AI.

What is a Mini?

In Minikai, each person has their own Mini. A Mini stores information for one person and helps staff write notes, plans, and reports, as well as quickly find the information they need to provide high-quality services. A Mini only uses information from your service provider, so it stays accurate.

How we keep information safe

  • A Mini can only see that one person's records, it cannot see anyone else's.

  • Only the staff who support that person can see their Mini.

  • It does not look things up on the internet.

  • Information stays safely stored in Australia.

  • It is never used to teach other AI.

What this means

  • More time to support. More time for people and less time on admin.

  • Clearer notes. Notes are easier to read, and important information is quicker to find.

  • Regular updates. Families can get more regular and accurate updates.

  • Continuity of care. New staff can get to know that person faster, so support carries on smoothly from one staff member to the next.
