Release Date: June 2025

Minis can now search knowledge using metadata filtering to retrieve relevant records more accurately. This release brings a significant update: date-filtered search capabilities for Minis.

Feature Highlights:

  • Date-Filtered Knowledge Search
What it is: Minis are now aware of dates and timeframes in your data when answering questions. We’ve enhanced the search algorithms so that you can ask questions with a date constraint (explicit or implicit) and the Mini will filter its knowledge base accordingly. For example, you can ask, “Have there been any falls in the past week?” or “Show me last June’s incident reports for Client X,” and the Mini will focus only on records from those time periods. Essentially, the Mini can now apply metadata filters (like date ranges or recency) to give you more targeted answers.

Why it matters: You get more precise and relevant answers to time-specific queries. Previously, a question like “recent falls” might have included older data or been harder for the AI to interpret. Now the Mini can discern the time aspect and retrieve just the information you need (e.g., falls in the last 7 days). This improves accuracy – especially for compliance and reporting tasks where you often care about the latest events or a particular date range. It also saves you from manually sifting through results or adding a lot of date keywords; the Mini handles that filtering for you.

  • Enhance Analytics and Monitoring (beta)

What it is: We have started rolling out improved internal analytics for Mini interactions, focusing on search queries and results. While not directly visible in the UI yet, this lays the groundwork for upcoming features like admin dashboards and usage reports. It also means our team can more closely monitor search quality and quickly tweak things if, say, certain date queries aren’t performing as expected.

Why it matters: Though behind-the-scenes, this effort will lead to a more robust and transparent Minikai experience. In the near future, you’ll get insights like “most common questions asked” or “number of incidents reported via Mini this month” as part of your account reporting. In the meantime, it assures you that the new date-filtered search is being continuously improved – we’re watching how it’s used and fine-tuning it to ensure accuracy and usefulness.

Fixes & Improvements:

  • Smarter date queries: The Minis better understand natural language time phrases (e.g., “recently,” “last quarter,” “next week”) and will map them to specific date ranges when retrieving answers. This closes some gaps where previously a Mini might have misunderstood the time context of a question.

  • Resolved an issue where integrating with multiple systems could cause duplicate Mini entries – the sync logic is now de-duplicated and handles multi-source environments gracefully.

  • Various performance improvements in data syncing and indexing: large data imports from CMS run faster and with more robust error handling (if a particular record can’t sync, it logs it and continues, rather than stopping the whole sync).

  • Fixed a minor UI bug where the date picker in the knowledge search filter (when manually used)was not showing the correct timezone for some users - it now aligns with your local time.

How to Use It:

The advanced date filtering is automatically active. You don’t need to do anything except enjoy more accurate answers. For instance, try asking your Mini something like, “What were the incidents in April 2025?” and notice how it provides a focused answer. You can also be conversational - e.g., “Have there been any falls this week?” – and the Mini will interpret “this week” as the current week’s timeframe. If you have any saved chats or reports that you regularly run, consider rephrasing them with time filters to take advantage of this improvement (it might reduce follow-up questions or manual filtering).

Minikai is becoming smarter and more connected with each release. This month’s changes help ensure you always get timely information and that our AI helpers slot right into your existing data ecosystem. We’re eager to see how date-aware answers make your daily work easier – imagine asking “when was the last training completed?” and getting the exact date without digging.

As always, we’re here to help you get the most out of these features. Happy querying, and let us know any feedback!
