Release Date: May 2025
Have Minis auto-fill forms that can be submitted to a Mini’s knowledge. Configure SSO via OAuth 2.0 and OIDC for users to easily sign in. This update delivers two major enhancements: interactive form submissions and Single Sign-On (SSO) for Minikai. Minis can now guide you through filling out forms (like incident reports) in a chat dialog and save them automatically. Additionally, your organisation can enable SSO so that users log into Minikai with your existing identity provider credentials for a smoother, more secure sign-in experience.
Feature Highlights:
Interactive Form Assistance
What it is: Minis can now present and help fill out forms through the chat interface. For example, if you need to file an incident report or update a progress note, the Mini can generate the appropriate form and then guide you step-by-step by asking for each required detail. Once you provide the information (via chat or by selecting options), the Mini auto-fills the form and submits it into its knowledge base. Why it matters: This makes documenting information faster and more accurate. Rather than downloading a form or logging into another system, staff can simply tell the Mini something like “Submit a fall incident report” and the Mini will prompt for the necessary info in a conversational way. It ensures all required fields are captured (nothing gets forgotten) and the completed record is stored instantly. Overall, it streamlines workflows like incident reporting, saving your team time and hassle.
Single Sign-On (SSO) Support
What it is: Minikai now supports SSO via OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect. In practice, this means your users can sign in to Minikai using your organisation’s existing login credentials (for example, your Microsoft Azure AD, Google Workspace, Okta, or other identity provider). Once SSO is configured, users will be redirected to your familiar login page and upon success, seamlessly logged into Minikai without a separate username/password.Why it matters: SSO makes access simpler and more secure. Staff have one less password to manage, and onboarding or off-boarding users is centralised through your IT identity system. For your IT admins, this means easier user management and compliance: when a user leaves your organisation or changes roles, updating access in your central directory automatically updates their Minikai access as well. Overall, it’s a big win for convenience and security, especially in larger teams.
User Experience Refinements
What it is: Alongside the above, we’ve improved some interface elements. Notably, when a Mini presents a form in chat, it now uses a clear, easy-to-read format (with labels and input hints) to make the data entry process intuitive. We also updated error messages and guidance around login to support the new SSO option (e.g., if SSO is enabled, users will see a “Login with SSO” button). Why it matters: These small refinements ensure the new features integrate seamlessly into your daily use. The goal is to keep the user experience simple – whether you’re filling a form via chat or signing in through SSO, the process should feel straightforward and reliable.
Feature Highlights:
Fixed a bug where long text inputs in chat sometimes didn’t save correctly – now even multi-paragraph notes submitted via a Mini will be captured in full.
Improved overall system performance when searching the knowledge base, especially for queries that involve form data (results come back faster).
Various UI polish items, such as clearer timestamps on submitted forms and a loading indicator while a form is being generated by the Mini.
How to Use It:
The form submission feature is live and requires no special setup – if your Mini has a form template configured (e.g., an incident report form), it will now use the
interactive chat-based flow automatically. You can try it by prompting a Mini with a phrase like “I need to fill out a fall report” and watch it walk you through the form. If you have specific forms you want to enable, reach out to our team to ensure they’re set up correctly in the system.
For SSO, this feature is available to all customers who use a supported identity provider. Enabling SSO does require a one-time configuration by an admin. Please contact Minikai support to get started – we will guide you through connecting Minikai to your OAuth/OIDC provider (this usually involves exchanging some configuration details like client IDs and certificates). Once configured, your team will
be able to use your main work login to access Minikai. (Users can still use Minikai’s regular login if they are not part of your SSO domain or if SSO is not configured.)
