When you use Minikai, some things are private to you and some things are visible to your team. Here's how it works.
What's private — your chat conversations
Your chat conversations with a Mini are private to you. No one else in your team can see what you've asked or the responses you've received. This means you can freely explore questions, draft ideas, or work through sensitive topics without worrying about others seeing the conversation.
There's no setting to change this — chat is always private by design.
What's visible — Timeline and Overview
The Timeline and Overview for a Mini are visible to all users who have access to that Mini. These shared views help your team stay across what's happening for the person in your care.
Timeline — a chronological view of records and events for the person. Everyone with access to the Mini sees the same Timeline.
Overview — a summary view of key information about the person. Again, visible to anyone with access to the Mini.
This means your team can collaborate around shared records and context, while your individual chat conversations remain your own.
Why it works this way
This design balances two important needs:
Collaboration — your team needs shared visibility over records, events, and summaries to provide coordinated care.
Confidence — you need the freedom to explore questions, draft notes, and work through ideas without others watching over your shoulder.
💡 Tip: Because chat is private, it's a great space to draft things before they're ready — like trying out different ways to word a care plan update, or asking a question you're not sure about. When you're happy with the result, you can use it in your documentation.
⚠️ Always review before sharing: If you copy information from a chat into a shared space like a care plan or handover note, make sure you review it for accuracy and appropriateness first. Your chat is private, but anything you paste elsewhere may be visible to your team.
ℹ️ Good to know: Access to a Mini — and therefore to its Timeline and Overview — is managed by your Admin. If you can't see a particular Mini, ask your Admin to check your access. Learn more about roles and permissions →
